3 months agoThat is a very smooth 3.5 mile walk on the Devil's Racetrack Trail. I recommend it highly. The elevation gain is so gradual that it is not really even noticeable. Needs more signage near the top.

3 years agoReally fun trail with a lot of varying terrain. My three oldest kids and I hiked a section of this in the evening after a brief rain, and while it was muddy, it was definitely manageable.

11 months agoGood parking lot with gravel. Picnic tables and trail map at entry. Nicely marked trails and a few benches along the way to help navigate. Nothing to see on devil's racetrack or rock wall. Very boring, not scenic, no wildlife... very bleak in early spring. Good exercise trail.

5 years agoGreat set of trails, well marked. Land Trust of North Alabama does a great job. Key to hiking these trails is stay focused on where you are walking, plenty of rocks. We walked up on snake sunning itself, I think it was a rattle snake and it was not pleased.
