2 weeks agoTrail takes about 30 minutes walking down slowly and stopping for pics. Then spend a couple hours at the waterfall. Takes a bit longer to walk back uphill. Lots of rocks and you need to be in shape. I saw lots of little kids do the trail. Very fun and beautiful! Perfect day for a hike!

5 months agoNot the easiest for weekend hikers but definitely keep the heart pumping! Great hike especially coming from texas, felt good even in August weather. It would be much better on colder months or in months were the falls actually had more water

12 months agoThis trail is fairly short in duration, but fairly difficult for the "weekend warrior" with little to no experience hiking. The avid hiker will want to consider navigating other trails in the area to supplement the day. The scenery is breathtaking and complete with a spectacular waterfall, (depending on the time of season), stream, unique rock formations, stone steps, and everything else this picturesque box canyon provides. This last visit, we were fortunate enough to have experienced this trail after one of the few snow storms had passed through the area. The result is some pictures of some rather striking ice formations shown below.

1 year agoCedar Falls Trailhead is 2-miles of strenuous hiking. Bring good shoes with grip and plenty of water. The first section of trail is steep switch backs with steep rock steps down to the water. The second section is moderate with plenty of rocks to step on or over. The last section is rock scrambling to get to the falls. Do not get in the water. All water in this park is run off. My group hustled and made the out and back trail in under an hour. More leisurely hike can easily take 2 hours. Especially the last climb out, leg burner!! All in all totally worth the effort to see the magnificent falls and the grand scale of the rock formations from below.
