2026, early Fall vacation. RV spots were spacious and we'll maintained. Plenty of trails for hiking and biking. Clean shower and bathroom. Facilities. Public beach was clean and not crowded. The fishing pier has been under repair for 2 years and still not completed. So bring a boat or kayak if you want to do any fishing. The town outside the park has grocery stores, bars and restaurants. A local vibe, not a highly commercialized area with big chain shopping and restaurants.
Nice staff, but the bridge is out of servicw, so access to most of the walking trail is cut off. And there are no dogs allowed on the beach - so half of the park is not accessible if you have a dog. I'm glad it's a protected area for the endangeted pipers who nest there, but it is not a good park to visit for exploration. Always good to support state parks. Mid at best, though.
