3 weeks agoThis hike is great, portion of the look out is closed due to structural damage I believe the stairs part is also still closed. Trail full of snow and ice still not very safe.

3 months agoThe rumors are true. This is somewhat a difficult trail, but super interactive. You’ll start by descending down which is relatively flat, but has slippery moments. During that time you’ll be following “aqua” trial markers from some time. Then you’ll get a pond and two small bridges, this is your indication you’re close to the great stairs. Finally you’ll get to a waterfall, after going down a few steps, and once you head right, you’ll start the rock scramble. Now…this is fun a first. But it’s a pretty extensive rock scramble, but not too winding, just annoying. Once you’re completely done with rock scrambling, you’ll walk towards the forest loop trial, which is the ascend from hell. However, you’ll reach the top and claim victory. This trail does loop BACK into the parking lot next to the cafe. However, it’ll be a 10 min walk to get there once you’re officially on the top. Happy Hiking!
