10 months agoThe dome is a hidden gem. Literally, because now it’s wrapped in ominous orange tape like a crime scene. Did the stained glass panels commit a felony? Was there an illegal gathering of pigeons under the dome? The world may never know. This beautiful mysterious dome now sits behind a "NO DUMPING" barricade as if someone feared people would start chucking their old couches at it. I, for one, would welcome an old fridge or two to accentuate this mysterious architectural masterpiece. Five stars for the art, minus zero stars for the unexplained municipal orange tape. Free the dome! I came all the way here from my house to look at the dome closely, and now I have to look at it from 10 feet away. Is this justice? I will tell you Burlington what the answer is: no

11 months agoIt was a sunny day in mid april when my life changed forever. I was strolling along North Street, lost in thought, when a sudden flash of color caught my attention. I turned, and there it was, the legendary structure that some refer to as “The Dome”. A humble name for what can only be described as a portal to another dimension. Drawn in by forces I still can’t explain, I approached. The stained glass shimmered like a dream, each tile catching the sunlight just so, as if the sun itself were conspiring with the glass to tell secrets only I could hear. Colors danced, merged, whispered melodies older than language. Light layered like music, harmonizing in impossible ways. And then, well, this part is difficult to talk about, but as I stood beneath that sacred structure, time paused. A pigeon landed beside me and spoke in perfect iambic pentameter. A child passing by seemed to age ten years, only to revert seconds later, laughing like it was all a game. I’m not saying the Dome has powers. I’m just saying… I haven’t looked at a rainbow the same way since. If you’re nearby, take a moment to stop. Look up. Let the light hit you just right. You won’t regret it.
