Eternal Flame Falls is a truly unique tourist attraction nestled in Orchard Park. Famous for the rare eternal flame that flickers behind a waterfall in a grotto, this spot offers visitors a magical blend of natural beauty and geological wonder. The surrounding forest adds to the peaceful ambiance, creating a spectacular setting for a memorable hike.
The trails are thoughtfully maintained with steps and railings, making the ascent manageable and safe. While not wheelchair accessible, the hike is considered easy for most and perfect for those who appreciate scenic walks through old-growth woods. Proper footwear is recommended, especially when weather conditions make the paths slick.
Visitors can relax on benches overlooking the falls and enjoy the rare sight of a flame sustained by natural gases for thousands of years. For a captivating outdoor experience in New York, Eternal Flame Falls is an absolute must-visit.

in the last weekA free and beautiful hiking experience that's good for all ages. The flame is probably the coolest thing I've ever seen. Must go early spring so the water doesn't dry up and be sure to wear mud/rain boots. You are hurting yourself if you don't go. Must visit

a week agoAmazing experience for all ages. Totally recommended. The trail can be somewhat challenging at a few of spots for certain people due to downed trees, slippery and muddy surface. It takes about 30 to 45 mins to reach the waterfall. Do wear your trail shoes for this one. The waterfall and the flame itself is an unique combo definitely worth doing the trail. Did this in early spring on the Easter weekend and was a bit crowded. There is ample of parking spots at the main entrance of the trail. A must visit.
