a week agoIt was a nice Saturday in mid-May and my girlfriend and I wanted to try someplace new. We landed at Max and Butters. We had hoped to sit outside but a family had their kids running wild so we ducked inside. The establishment is one long, eclectic rectangle with a hodgepodge of art and decoration without any noticeable theme or cohesion. They served me a wonderful Reyka martini and we had breakfast for dinner because the dinner offerings didn't leave an impression. My girlfriend had three over-easy eggs with smoked bacon and I had a grilled chicken omelet with gruyere and spinach with a side of potatoes. The omelet was excellent. The potatoes could have been a crispier by they were fresh. My girlfriend enjoyed her dish as well. For a Saturday, it was strange that they had only one server and one cook in the kitchen. Even so, our server was wonderful and kind. We hope to return soon and actually have breakfast for breakfast!

a month agoI generally dont have a lot to complain about when i eat, but i couldn't find a reason if you were to ask me to find one. We were in town for some shopping, asked Google for restaurants, and had an outstanding meal; food was delicious, service was perfect, atmosphere was quiet and comfortable, and the price was fine even for those of us who can't afford to eat out much. I wish I was closer so i could go more often.

a month agoThis is my favorite place to come for brunch when we come to Allentown! The staff is always super friendly, and the owner is very pleasant to talk to. Highly recommend the bananas foster French toast and the crab Benny!

3 months agoOne star because our server was kind and attentive. Everything else about our experience was unsatisfactory. The restaurant had three people working on a Saturday night (on the night of a Phantom’s home game). It took 15 minutes to get our drinks because the bartender was in the back. When she emerged she served the new guests at the bar before making our drinks. For our food, we ordered sliders, the “bbb” burger, and a chicken sandwich. The burgers (ordered medium) were somehow both overdone and underdone, bright red on the sides and hard in other places. Rather than slices of cheese, there were large unmelted chunks. The bacon was a thick fatty pork belly that was almost inedible. The buns were stale and reminiscent of a cardboard egg carton. We were in a hurry to get to the game so we ate what we could and left the rest. Our server asked us how it was and we told her. She was apologetic, and we asked to speak to the manager. When we told the manager our complaints she said, “It can’t have been that bad, you ate 90% of it.” I showed her the food, but she was unmoved about or concerns and argumentative. I can honestly say that I have never had an experience like this before. Eating out is so expensive. Do not waste your time and money at this establishment. As you can see below, the owner sees fit to attack me (and other negative reviewers) rather than taking accountability for her awful food and pathetic attitude towards her customers. Nobody at any point asked for a free meal, and frankly you couldn’t pay me to eat there again. What reason would I have to lie? I’ve never written a review for a restaurant before. I did so this time because of her actions and our extraordinarily disappointing experience.

3 months ago45 min wait at table, no food, place wasnt even packed - 1 table had 8 ppl, 1 table 2 ppl, amd 2 ppl at bar. Waitress said couldn't take our food order cuz chef was overwhelmed with the one tables order, the couple at table next to us were there before us and had only been served the mans food - yes his girl was sittin there 20 mins with no food while his was awkwardly sittin there on table - so boom I start seein ppl at the 8 table handing plates back to waitress, takin them up to kitchen counter, basically complaining and returning food - so that was my sign to leave. I waited to pay for drinks and them ppl said they were still tryna make them ay for food they didnt even eat. Idk but Im not goin back. Shoulda read the reviews first
