Al Watan Halal Tandoori Restaurant is celebrated in Hawthorne, CA for its authentic and bold flavors that capture the essence of traditional Pakistani cooking. This Pakistani restaurant delights guests with dishes like tender lamb pulao—available on Fridays—aromatic and light, and perfectly cooked tandoori chicken bursting with smoky, spiced goodness.
The Aloo Palak is a standout favorite, praised for its remarkable depth of flavor that leaves diners craving more. Beyond the food, the warm hospitality from servers like Ali creates a neighborhood favorite atmosphere that feels like home. With generous portions and fair prices, Al Watan is ideal for anyone seeking a flavorful and heartfelt halal dining experience in the South Bay area.
Lots of food and severed to share with family members. Utilities or hands, and bathrooms on both sides to wash hands before salad, drinks, and water with lemon without requesting.

Good customer service , something that is often overlooked in desi restaurants . The owner Waheed was very kind and hospitable .
I recently visited Al Watan Halal Tandoori Restaurant, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The dinner thali was decent and probably the best part of the meal. However, the chicken biryani and goat biryani were disappointing — they seemed more like rice mixed with curry rather than what I would expect from a proper biryani. The bigger issue was the billing and tip situation. When we received the bill, a 15% tip had already been added without asking us. We also noticed different tip percentages, including 20% and 50%, being presented. We questioned the staff about why the tip was being added automatically. A tip should be the customer's choice, and any automatic gratuity should be clearly disclosed before the customer pays. We were uncomfortable having to question the bill after finishing our meal. Overall, the food was just okay, but the unexpected tip charge left a bad impression. I hope the restaurant is more transparent about gratuity going forward.
