Cindy’s Nail Spa

I have been coming to Cindy‘s nail spa for 20 years. This is the place I come for every day touchups and waxing, and for every special event in my life. Cindy, Sarah, and Danny have done my nails before all of my high school, proms, my wedding, and now as a mom. If they don’t have the color you’re looking for, they’ll even mix it for you!All of the staff have incredible hearts, and are always kind, and they do an impeccable job every time. If you want a relaxing afternoon with a staff, that will take care of you, I highly recommend.

Best nail salon in the area. Very friendly service, it’s never hard to get an appt or walk in, and the quality is great. I’ve been coming here for years and still love it!

Ok, I’m an Atherton resident for over 20years. Cindy’s is a local nail spa in Atherton. It’s a nice looking spa, although it is small, it’s seemingly clean and convenient for me so I decided to give them a try. My first manicure/pedicure there was outstanding. There is a gentleman who works there who provides excellent service. I thought it would be my regular spot. The next time I went to my dismay, I noticed they were changing out the nail polishes; I mean they changed out all the polishes. Needless to say, my polish didn’t last more than 48 hours, and that was a gel manicure with tip. I figured it was the polish and decided I’d only go there when it was convenient. I’d go every now and then with low expectations. I went recently on 3/6 for a gel-chrome manicure and pedicure. $135 total, not including tip- which is pretty average these days. First,for my pedicure She had left soap in the back of my calf so I had to ask her to clean that off. The water was also too hot. I had asked her to make it cooler than when it was too cold ahead ask her to make it hotter, and it was clear that I was just an inconvenience for her (Naturally, I wish I didn’t have to ask for all of these corrections- like get it together) And every time I did make a request, she was speaking another language clearly talking about me. Ultimately, I just wasn’t happy with the shape of my nail (Which I’ve never had a problem with) somehow she made them look crooked, and acted as though that was simply the shape of my nails: the pushback and attitude I received, caught me off guard. She started talking in another language, clearly suggesting that my nails were simply crooked if not something worse, or that I was simply being difficult.. for asking for what I wanted. At the end of the pedicure, one of the nails just was too crooked for me to tolerate so they had to kind of shave down one of the sides to the bottom to make it look straight, which was a fine fix, although it did remove some of the chrome, which is understandable, but was not reapplied. I let it go. The very next day, my gel manicure chipped. I felt as though my time was wasted, and it was pretty disappointing to find the manicure had chipped given it had only been less than 24hrs, and that I got it in advance so I wouldn’t have to go in on my birthday. I had plans on my birthday out of town. I couldn’t go in to have it fixed that day, nor would I have wanted to. I called and while the owner, Cindy herself, is the one who did my manicure, she was completely unapologetic, although she did offer to fix the ONE nail (she emphasized) on Monday- the earliest I could go in. Cindy Could not have cared less about my time, or the fact that I have a chipped manicure for my birthday; offered no explanation, or had any genuine concern. She stated that they would “fix that one nail on Monday.” It just didn’t sit well with me, so I ended up calling back, asking very calmly for some kind of explanation as to why this might’ve happened or why I was so quickly disregarded. I get it, people are busy, but just generally while I was there, I did not feel very welcome like they’re very entitled at this place, they speak in another language when you make requests for what you are paying for, and they’re clearly talking about you. It was very uncomfortable. Cindy actually resorted to yelling at me on our call and hanging up the phone. So an apology would have been nice. FYI, I paid full price for my manicure and pedicure and did not request any kind of refund. I do not plan to return to the salon, and I would not recommend anybody go here unless you’d like to be mistreated. It was just an unsettling experience.

Wow - can't say enough good things, so happy I found Cindy's! They are so friendly and accommodating, and the nail techs are beyond talented. So thorough every time, love my manis here.
