⚠️ DO NOT STAY HERE — DISGUSTING ROOM CONDITIONS & TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE ⚠️ I have never felt the need to write a review like this, but our experience at this Hyatt property was absolutely unacceptable. We booked THREE rooms for our family, expecting a clean, comfortable stay. Instead, my wife and I discovered what appeared to be BLOOD on the floor, blood spatter on the wall and baseboard, and blood-stained grout in the shower. Yes—BLOOD. This was not a minor housekeeping issue. How does a room with visible blood get cleaned, inspected, and then given to another paying guest? And it gets worse. We were NOT informed about the construction happening at the hotel before our stay. Construction significantly affected the property and limited amenities that were advertised when we booked. If we had been told beforehand, we could have made an informed decision and stayed somewhere else. Because we had three rooms for our family, this affected everyone—not just my wife and me. Despite what happened, the hotel refused to refund ANY nights for our family members in the other rooms that were also affected. There was absolutely no consideration for the fact that our entire family’s stay was disrupted. My wife and I had to move our belongings and use the other two rooms to get ready separately just to keep our schedule. Instead of enjoying our family trip, we were scrambling around the hotel trying to figure out how to deal with a room that should never have been given to a guest in the first place. The most disappointing part wasn’t just the condition of the room—it was the lack of accountability afterward. A hotel can make a mistake. What matters is how they handle it. In our case, Hyatt failed on both the basic cleanliness standards AND the customer-service response. Visible blood in a guest room. Undisclosed construction. Advertised amenities affected. Three rooms impacted. No refund for the other affected family rooms. And we had to rearrange our entire morning just to get ready. This was completely unacceptable. Think twice before booking this hotel. We certainly will not be staying here again, and based on this experience, I cannot recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and properly managed Hyatt stay.
Dirty rooms, unsafe conditions, poor lighting, no office signage, no parking because of construction equipment, front desk does not answer the phones, front desk would not provide a name or contact information for management, etc. Find another hotel, this is more like a motel. When I called Hyatt customer service and spoke to the supervisor Jay, he was of no assistance. This is why Hyatt and their properties are losing market share. Poor customer service, poor management, and disgusting rooms.
This place sucked. I understand that you guys are doing construction but still. Close your doors and focus on that if you can't give your guests a good experience. They started by handing me a list of all the amenities they DON'T have because of the construction. I lost my phone which is nobodies fault but mine but neither of the phones in my room worked so I had to ask front desk for help. They said they would send someone to my room to help me with my phone (twice) and never did. Another guest informed me that the phones in the rooms have never worked. Wonderful. I go back to the front desk to ask the attendant if I can use the desk phone. It doesn't work after like 5 attempts and I keep explaining that its not working but she just keeps doing the same thing over and over with the phone. I eventually give up because I thought I might have an aneurysm. The hotel was filthy from the construction. Mud and construction debris everywhere, trash EVERYWHERE. Seriously if anyone reads this, how do you not have a grounds keeper check the area directly in FRONT of your hotel for garbage? The coup de grace was that I had 20 construction workers screaming and yelling outside my hotel room, running generators/equipment, and running up and down the stairs in FRONT of my room at SEVEN in the morning while I was supposed to be on vacation. The ONLY reason I'm leaving a 5 star review and not a 1 start is because I told Akessa at the front desk I would put in a good word for her. At the end of the day she was extremely helpful and patient with me, even if she doesn't know how phones work. PEACE.
The rate here was pretty affordable: a little over $100 and the suites are spacious. The property is also next to the water with a nice walking path and a small pavilion, so the setting is quiet and pleasant. Unfortunately, I ended up checking out only about two hours after arriving. 1. Cleanliness was the biggest issue. I found medication packaging left behind next to the nightstand, plus unidentified dried/sticky residue on two different walls. There was also a large bundle of hotel bedding left on the railing directly outside my door. 2. Both the gym and regular breakfast were unavailable due to renovation. Breakfast was replaced with a limited grab-and-go coffee setup. I really wish these closures had been made clearer before booking, especially the gym. 3. The property feels dated. My room was on the third floor with no elevator, so I had to carry my heavy luggage up three flights of stairs. There was also no Chromecast in the room, even though the Hyatt app showed it for my stay. 4. The whole property has an unusual vibe: low-rise buildings, a quiet waterfront, very little shopping or convenience stores nearby, and older facilities. It honestly felt more like an old-fashioned retirement community than a modern Hyatt House. Some people may enjoy the peace and quiet, but it wasn’t for me. There were a few other quirks too. Check-in was being handled at a temporary setup, and I had to fill out and sign a paper registration form by hand. I do want to give management credit. After I explained the issues and said I wasn’t comfortable staying, the manager called me back, checked me out, and approved a full refund immediately — no arguing or runaround. I really appreciated how professionally they handled it. Overall: affordable rate, spacious rooms and a peaceful waterfront setting, but too many cleanliness and amenity issues for me. Management’s excellent handling of the situation is why I’m giving 3 stars rather than less.
