My son joined Nakano judo academy in 2019 he was only 5 years old at the time. My son has loved going to judo from the moment he signed up. Since joining, he has built strong values like respect, discipline, and confidence thanks to Sensei Nakano’s guidance. Sensei Nakano is an amazing instructor who truly cares about his students and pushes them to do their best. He has helped my son grow tremendously, both in judo and as a person, and has supported him in reaching the level where he now competes nationally. We are very grateful for everything he has done and highly recommend this dojo to anyone looking for a positive and supportive environment.

When my son first started judo at 7 years old, it honestly was not something he showed much interest in. Before Nakano Judo, we had tried many different sports and martial arts, but for some reason, this one stuck. Looking back, I truly believe it was because of Nakano Sensei, the culture of judo, and the incredible community surrounding this dojo. Nakano Sensei is not only an inspiring teacher, but also a renowned former Japan national judo champion who leads with humility, positivity, discipline, and respect. The environment he has built is special. From day one, my son was surrounded by supportive teammates, lifelong friendships, and a close-knit community that genuinely cares about one another. Over the last five years, it has been incredible to watch my son grow mentally, physically, and spiritually through judo. What started as an activity became a life-changing journey that opened doors we never could have imagined. Through Nakano Judo, my son has had opportunities to travel the world, including Cuba and Japan, meet world-renowned athletes, and even find himself competing on the national stage. As a parent, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing your child gain confidence, resilience, discipline, and purpose while being guided by such positive role models. We never could have imagined that one decision to try judo would lead to so many unforgettable experiences and meaningful relationships. Nakano Judo has truly been one of the best journeys our family has ever been part of.

Nakano Judo Academy has been a great experience for our 7-year-old son. We’ve seen a lot of growth in his confidence, discipline, and tournament achievements since joining. Sensei Shintaro Nakano is patient, supportive, and truly cares about the kids. Very thankful for everything he’s done to help our son progress in judo.

Nakano Judo Academy is a special place for our family, where our daughters have learned discipline, dedication, humility, and safety. Nakano Sensei is very detailed in providing instruction and teaching judo to students of all levels, from beginners to advanced and competition athletes. The dojo is not only a place for training, but also a place where teammates become friends and friends become family. My two daughters started judo at the age of 5, and they are now 11 and 13 years old. I never imagined that both of them would become competitive in judo. They have each won several national tournaments, including earning the title of USA Ranked #1 National Junior Athlete in the nation. They continue their judo journey every year because of the consistent moral support and high-quality training they receive from Nakano Sensei.
