I ordered the Burger in the lunch menu. The sauce was good but way too much onions. My wife ordered a sandwhich which was good but had to scrap of some of the olives as there was to much. Waitress was very nice and knowledgeable.

Bluebeard is one of those rare restaurants that manages to honor Indianapolis history while delivering an unforgettable dining experience. Located in a beautifully renovated 1924 warehouse in the Holy Rosary neighborhood, the space itself is a tribute to the city’s past. The restaurant’s name pays homage to Kurt Vonnegut, one of Indy’s most beloved literary icons, and the building has become a cornerstone of the neighborhood’s revitalization. It’s no surprise that Bluebeard has earned national recognition and multiple James Beard nominations. We visited on a calm but bustling evening and had a wonderful time with friends, thanks in large part to the outstanding service from Jacob and the entire team. The atmosphere was relaxed and warm, with enough energy to feel lively but still quiet enough for easy conversation. Even with one nearby patron who hadn’t discovered the silent mode on their phone. Thankfully, someone in their party eventually rescued us all by silencing it. We started with a round of cocktails. Monkey House, Golden Rush, and a few Lazzaroni Amaretto & Cokes, all expertly crafted and delicious. Our appetizers, the Charcuterie & Cheese and Chips & Dip, were devoured quickly and set the tone for the rest of the evening. For dinner, our group enjoyed a spread of Gnocchi, Lumache, Garlic Brassica, Mushroom Ragu, Cauliflower, and of course, the famous Grilled Bread from Amelia’s, Bluebeard’s in‑house bakery. Every plate was beautifully presented, generously portioned, and absolutely delicious. My personal favorite was the Amelia’s Grilled Bread with Apple Butter and Sage Butter. Simple, rustic perfection. We ended the night with decadent desserts. Our friends each savored a slice of the Pistachio Cake, while my wife and I shared the Moka, which was rich, smooth, and the perfect finale. Bluebeard is everything a great restaurant should be: thoughtful food, exceptional service, a meaningful connection to its community, and an atmosphere that makes you want to linger. Whether you’re a local or visiting Indianapolis, this is a must‑visit spot that showcases the very best of the city’s culinary creativity and historic charm.

If you’re in Indianapolis, Bluebeard is a must-visit. The environment was relaxed and inviting, and the food was absolutely fabulous. We ordered the Mushroom Ragu and the Semi-Boneless Half Chicken—both were packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. This place absolutely deserves Bib Gourmand recognition and should be high on anyone’s list when visiting Indy.
