in the last weekMy wife and I wanted to try a new spot for dinner last night, and she thought Darryl's menu looked good. We were not disappointed! We started with the Pimento Cheese with the Homemade Crackers. We did ask them to melt the pimento cheese though, as that's the right way to eat it ;). The crackers and melted pimento cheese was delicious. Very greasy, of course, but worth it! Then I ordered the pork ribs with cheesy grits and the white cheddar mac and cheese. This was a great choice. The ribs were tender. Not quite fall off the bone, but tender all the same. The bbq sauce was pretty standard, but good. The white cheddar mac and cheese was creamy just the way I like it. The cheese grits were pretty standard, and what you'd expect. The only negative was that the sides were pretty small, each coming in a ramekin. My wife ordered the Lasagna. She makes the best lasagna I've ever eaten, so we've got a pretty high bar for the dish, but she thought this one was pretty good. The stack itself was primarily the pasta and cheese, with the generous portions of sauce more being around the sides of the stack. Overall, she thought it was pretty good. For desert, we decided to share the brownie sundae. I'm glad we split it, because it was a pretty decent size and we'd probably already eaten a little too much! We did wait about 15 minutes to be seated, but it was worth it. The service and food was good, and Darryl's has a really neat and fun, eclectic vibe in terms of the decor, which ranged from vintage movie posters to a Tardis. I highly recommend Darryl's, and I expect we'll be back again!
