in the last weekThis was our second time here and we will definitely be back. We showed up at 445 without a reservation and they seated us right away. Some of the food was amazing but not all of it. The halibut and the chilled seafood sampler were great (especially the house smoked king salmon). The shrimp were delish but could have been cooked in some spices like mustard and celery seed. The focaccia wasn't cooked all the way but still very yummy. Sadly, we had a Cove salad that was listed on the menu as field greens but was almost entirely romaine - which I had told the waitress that I cannot eat. The biggest issue was that the crab was disappointing - it was abundant (never a good sign as they are trying to get rid of it), fishy and old and I might have seen some 'k' crab in the mix. I'm already looking forward to the next meal there but we will ask what's freshest when ordering next time or stick to the halibut and sampler.

in the last weekA wonderful dinner. Raquel was very attentive and sweet and made sure my allergies were noted, for a safe dining experience for me! The focaccia was super soft and delicious. Just wish it came with more oil! The salmon was a small portion but very flaky and melty and was superb. The chili brussels sprouts were great too. The dining room is super classy and nice but not at all stuffy or pretentious. There is a large parking lot as well as free underground parking! The views are absolutely lovely if you come during the day, too. The dining room was very full but very quiet and easy to hear and talk in.

in the last weekThe ambiance, view, and staff are wonderful. Menu has something for everyone. The halibut fish and chips, were explained to have “light” batter coating, and they were highly recommended, so I ordered them. The fries were excellent, the fish recipe however was not. The ale batter AND crumb coating was heavy and dominated the fish. (Because the coating was so thick, I assume the pieces need more time in the fryer to cook the fish.) Unfortunately, even after pulling the coating off, the fish was dry and chewy in the thickest parts, and like halibut jerky in the thin parts. Fries were excellent. Tartar sauce was fine. The coleslaw veggie mix was nice, and the dressing had an unusual flavor that I enjoyed for the first three bites, and then I found the dressing to be cloying. I tasted my husband’s seafood chowder and liked the unique recipe. It was slightly smoky but not overwhelming. I would go to The Cove again, but not for the fried fish.
