Toscano is what I'd imagine was passable Italian food in most of America in the 70s-90s. It's what Europeans think of when they say "America has no good food." Pasta was greasy and overcooked. Salad limp, with misshapen melon and pitiful slivers of prosciutto. A wine list that's straight out of Total Wine. The dining room was also atrociously loud, with diners sitting way too close together. Tables were too high for the chairs, leading to very awkward eating experience. On top of all that, it's all very expensive. It's 2026. We're post-starbucks and post-Emeril. Better options are aplenty (yes, even in Boston). It's time we move on.

pretty disappointing, especially at this price point. I paid $48 for a scallops dish which came out a watery mess. also, the chairs were way too low for the table, or the table too high for the chairs. I felt like I had to hoist my arms up over the table, which felt like it was at my chin. Was embarassed to take someone there. I urge the manager to have an actual meal at one of the tables and tell me if it feels normal and comfortable. At this price point it just doesn't feel right. maybe if the prices were halved.

Was slim pickings for reservations for Mother's Day so ended up here. Had been a few times at the bar for drinks and apps before. Service was pretty good, ambience not bad. Small size of chairs was a bit weird - close to the floor, like for kids or something. Got cheese plate and bruschetta for apps - both very good. Main course pasta was absolutely horrendous - seafood was one, mushroom and something else was the other. Probably the worst pasta dish I ever had in my life - think getting home drunk at 3am, boiling some water and making a dish yourself. That bad - but worse. My wife's dish was terrible too. My daughter's food was ok - but it was just pasta and pesto so hard to screw that up, I suppose. Anyway, worst pasta dishes I ever had - by miles. So overall, not great.
