a month agoI took my daughters here for the first time two weeks ago in celebration of my oldest daughter birthday. It was their very first time ever getting their 4C hair blown or straightened. Both of my daughter’s hair are extremely healthy. I keep up with regular trims and their curl pattern was beautiful ! Until yesterday when I was washing my youngest daughter’s hair (aged 7) and much coarser then her older sister's, I realized that my baby’s hair kept shedding. I thought maybe because after my daughter’s party they pretty much kept it wrapped and I didn’t do much styling to it that it was just regular shed hair. But NO MY DAUGHTERS HAIR IS RUINED !!!!!! After deep conditioning I realized my child’s hair is EXTREMELY heat damaged! To the point where it isn’t just in the ends it from THE ROOT TO THE ENDS ! It almost looks like someone tried give her a relaxer, especially at the nape of her head. Her hair also severely broken off and just damaged. This broke my heart because I put so much time in nurturing their hair. This is totally unacceptable. What was supposed to be a fun mommy daughter day at the salmon turned into a nightmare for youngest baby. Who now compares the retained health of her older sister’s hair to her own. The stylist who did my oldest daughter’s hair was amazing her name is Nena. However, Juana ruined my baby’s hair. Because the damage is at the root it will take years to rectify.

3 months agoI visited this salon in September for a simple wash and blowout. It was my first time there. Everyone seemed friendly and the place was very busy, so I assumed it must be a great spot. While I was waiting to get my hair washed, I noticed some clients brought their own shampoo and conditioner. I thought it was odd, but didn’t dwell on it. When it was my turn, the wash and conditioning went smoothly, and the experience overall was pleasant. Afterward, I was moved to the dryer area to wait for the next step. My hair was blow-dried and flat-ironed, and it looked great when I left. About two weeks later, I washed my hair at home and noticed something was off—my natural 4C curls didn’t revert. I read online that sometimes it takes another wash, so I waited another two weeks. This time, I worked out and took a shower without a cap, expecting my hair to shrink like usual. It didn’t. I did more research and tried a clarifying shampoo to remove any product or buildup, but nothing changed. It’s now November, and my hair still hasn’t regained its kinky fro texture. Instead, it looks texturized. I’m not sure what was used on my hair, but it seems I’ll have to restart my natural hair journey from the beginning. I’ve had blowouts before at a different salon and my hair always reverted without damage. I was short on time and made a last minute decision that wasn’t great.
