a month agoEverything about this place was amazing! I would give the atmosphere 5 stars, but there was a group of very loud chatters next to us, so we could barely even think let alone speak. But other than that, everything was great. Food, service, ambiance, etc. Just be warned though… it’s not cheap.

a month agoThe scallops and lamb were cooked perfectly and paired with amazing sauces. They came with the best brussels sprouts ever. The pumpkin crème brulee and apple tart were also delicious and the best dessert I’ve had at a restaurant.

a month ago⭐ Review for Mustard Seed – Davis, CA The steak was very good, and the tomato bisque with puff pastry was excellent — rich, flavorful, and perfectly comforting. Unfortunately, the Parmesan crisp on the Caesar salad was a disappointment. It wasn’t crisp at all — it smelled and tasted stale, as if it had been stored overnight near onions and garlic. It completely lost that lovely, nutty Parmesan flavor that makes it special. The tables are uncomfortably small, forcing diners far too close together. We found ourselves practically breathing, chewing, and swallowing in each other’s faces — not healthy, not pleasant, and certainly not relaxing. The bathroom is also poorly placed — small, directly next to the entrance. You can’t open the door without bumping into someone waiting to be seated. It felt stuffy and smelly, and it does not feel clean to wash your hands before the meal. On the positive side, the wait staff were excellent — friendly, quick, professional, and thoughtful. They were clearly aware that many guests, like us, were attending the Itzhak Perlman concert and made sure service was smooth and timely. There’s real potential here with the food, and we will gladly come back once you let us know these issues have been improved.
