in the last weekThis will be the last time I shop at this grocery store. This is the second time (12/22/25 at 5:40pm) my mom and I have been completely ignored at the meat department. Every single time you go there, it’s different rules. People come from all sides and the workers just take anyone that approaches them speaking Spanish. If you don’t know Spanish and don’t say anything to them, they will literally not make ANY eye contact with you. It will be as if you are literally invisible. Not once will they look at you, it’s like they really don’t see you there unless you start speaking loudly in Spanish at them. My mom stood there waiting patiently while she got skipped by two men over and over until I spoke up and the worker behind the scale ignored us both and walked off after he was done. I heard him say “me voy” which means I’m leaving. I understand very little Spanish because my husband is Dominican and speaks Spanish well but was not present with me at that moment. My mom and I are Indian. I walked over to the other two men working at the table behind the meat section and said to them that man ignored my mom twice and and now he’s saying he’s leaving when I just told him we are next. This man proceeded to blatantly LIE to my face and say that my mom was standing in the wrong place. We literally watched two different men walk to where my mom was (nowhere near the table area the two men were) and go over to the single man that was at the scale and speak Spanish very loudly to which he started helping each one. One after the other while my mom stood there waiting and she and I looked at each other in disbelief. It’s one thing to not even ask the customer if they need help because you don’t even speak English at all? But then to act like you don’t even see the customer is honestly so disrespectful and disgusting. And for the other man to yell and lie to my face and say my mom was standing in the wrong place is unacceptable. This is the second time we have been ignored by those same men but this time I got mad and spoke up. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! If you don’t speak English, you shouldn’t take orders at all. You should be comfortable to speak to any and every customer in front of you! You should also stop lying and making up rules that you see fit to cover up your disgusting racist behavior. When I asked his name, I was told Camilo. Right after that, they all started laughing loudly because they thought it would intimidate me. All this tells me is that they are not afraid of their supervisors or managers because they probably condone this behavior as well so I didn’t bother wasting my time to seek a supervisor or manager. I decided it was best to go public where everyone can see and then if anyone else who is not Spanish has experienced this can see my comment, they too will feel they are not alone and they didn’t do anything wrong. This behavior from store employees is unacceptable and should NEVER be tolerated. I was a manager once before changing careers and I would fire anyone on the spot for this. Just because my mom and I are small Indian women under 5 feet does not make it okay to be bullied and ridiculed by men who can barely speak English. This is a country of all languages and if you can only speak one language then you shouldn’t be taking orders and you certainly shouldn’t be ignoring customers right in front of you! And I’m sure you have cameras, check them. You will see that they ALL ignored my mom and took two male customers back to back standing exactly where my mom stood while ignoring her completely! Everytime we came here we spent $200-300 and today was the last day. I hope someone educated and respectful sees this and handles this accordingly because this is unacceptable from a business that deals with customers of all races. Everyone should be welcomed and helped regardless if they speak Spanish or not! I attached a photo of the workers that was behind the scale that ignored my mom. I was unable to get a photo of the one that lied to my face while yelling about my mom standing in the wrong place.
