a month agoI’ve been a patient at this office for years, but my most recent visit left me deeply concerned. After completing my routine cleaning, I stood up to leave and noticed a small dog in an adjacent room. I immediately told my hygienist that I did not want the dog near me. She explained that it belonged to the periodontist and was a therapy dog. I repeated myself clearly, asking her to ensure the dog stayed in the other room. The dog was not on a leash. Despite this, while the hygienist remained in the other room, I suddenly felt something on my leg. I looked down to find the dog licking the bare skin on the side of my leg. I was extremely distressed and had to clean the area immediately with multiple disinfecting wipes. I am immunocompromised, and the presence of an unrestrained animal in a medical setting—especially one that made physical contact with me after I explicitly declined interaction—is a serious health risk. I have never encountered a dog roaming freely in a medical office, and my clear boundaries were ignored. Edited to add Dec 7 2025: I appreciate you taking my feedback - I cannot be the only one who doesn't want to be touched by a dog in a clinical office. Thank you for amending the policies and looking out for your loyal patients.

a month agoI was fired as a patient yesterday by Dr Mohan. It is her prerogative to do so but as a senior on a fixed income, when I would not commit to VERY costly procedures as well as commit to cleaning appointments ever 3-4 months (I stated that I would do 6 months) she said I was not a right fit for her practice. I get that she is a doctor with plenty of finances, however, there should be more understanding for someone living day-to-day to elect for making their own dental plan. With the temperature in the country today, a little more softness for an embarassing situation might go a long way in the future.
