7 months agoAldridge Creek is the longest Greenway in Madison Co. & our personal favorite to bike when mountain trails are muddy! We drop in at Mt. Gap & can catch appx 16mi riding to Ditto Landing, the neighborhoods connected to the Greenway, etc. Walkers, joggers & skaters also frequent but we've never seen it congested. We typically see an abundance of wildlife, there are several rest benches, adjoining neighborhoods & parks with restrooms, a dog park, archery range, ball fields & playgrounds, beautiful panoramic views of Green Mountain & Tennessee River swampland & many spots to dip toes in the creek, wade in the water or fish for a while. Fun & beautiful to explore year-round! From a real estate standpoint, if you love the water & nature but also want to be close to the city, this is a great spot!

5 months agoThe old rail bridge has been removed, the greenway has been repaired, and it is open down to the marina. A sign warning of alligators was added this year. Be careful walking your pets.

3 months agoWe loved this trail, views of the stream and the mountains along the way. Paved trail that criss-crosses the creek and goes all the way down to the Marina on the Tennessee River which also offers some pretty spectacular views too! Rides by several nice neighborhoods and a community park with public restrooms. We rode about 14 miles out and back. Parked in the Willow Community Park nearby but found there is a small lot on Bailey Cove Rd right before the trail on our return. Enjoy!

2 years agoWhat a wonderful place to walk, ride or run! The greenway was clean and free of surface issues, very smooth. I enjoyed riding all the way to the Tennessee River and link up with the greenway there too. The round trip was 16 miles. The creek is very scenic with lots of wildlife to see. There is access to parks and neighborhoods.

3 years agoThis trail is about five miles long, add another couple of miles for those who get to the end and take the Tennessee River trail as well that goes along the Tennessee river. The scenery is enjoyable. The Aldridge Creek is close by (from both sides of the creek) along the trail. The is well maintained and feels very safe. I rode along it on a Sunday morning and saw perhaps 15 people going each way—a combination of people on bikes, baby strollers, and walkers. The is considerable shade along the trail as well. With fields and the creek along the way, it is not unusual to see wildlife as well. On a recent ride, there were several herons and numerous turtles sunning themselves on the rocks. There has been a great deal of rain and some of the water had come over low parts of the trail but it had receded although still muddy in places. The trail goes through fields, in close view of housing developments and even under a railroad trestle near the end of the trail. At one point there is a dog park and a gathering place with concrete benches. On one Sunday morning, there were a group of people with a leader in what appeared to be a Sunday school gathering in the shade of the surrounding trees. It is a great experience. I saw a number of families with young children having a good time and getting exercise on a sunny day.
