One of my favorites in the area. Easy walk to the waterfall, shelter, and random truck at the bottom. Plateau loops are flat, while the talus, ranger, and the sister trails provide more technical difficulty and fun things to look at.

Great place for an easy hike, the trails are well kept, and marked. Best time to go if you want to see the waterfall is the day after a rain, there will be plenty of water flowing. I've hiked this place several times.

This was my first hike, ever! We took the Alum trail which wasn’t so bad. The only part that I had trouble with were the steep steps. Mostly because of my weak knees. The waterfall was a lot smaller than I imagined, but the rocky side that was open underneath was amazing! We thought we would make a loop by taking Ranger trail…that was a mistake. It didn’t take us long to see that we needed to go back the way we came. Ranger trail isn’t marked well. It had a steep incline covered in fallen leaves and rocks. On our way out, we talked with a more advanced hiker and was told that he couldn’t find the trail markers for Ranger either. All in all, I’m proud of this out of shape, 58 year old mom, for taking on this adventure. I will hike again 😊 This was on Thanksgiving Day 2024 🦃

Alum Hollow trail is a nice easy 2.2 mile hike in an out from a small water fall and rock overhang feature. The falls typically run best a few days after a good rain and the path has a very diverse growth of mushrooms during that time.

Beautiful views, not too difficult of a walk or hike, just stay on the trail and wear proper shoes that have some grip. Each trail route is marked on the trees with either signs or colored ribbons.
