The Petit Jean State Park Cedar Creek Trail in Morrilton, Arkansas, boasts some of the most unique rock formations, beautiful scenery, and stunning overlooks you will ever see. There are a few issues you may encounter, however, like rocky terrain, downed trees, and a bridge that has been washed out. Navigating the stream is particularly easy where the bridge is out this time of the year. In fact, the creek is so low right now that it can be crossed without getting wet. Also, August tends to be one of the hottest months in AR...so bring plenty of water!

This trail is beautiful! The rocks are huge. Pictures don't do it justice. The trail is clearly marked. If you are color blind to the color red, bring a friend? Some of the steps are kind of steep. If you haven't done any kind of exercise in a while, you better stretch in the parking lot, or you'll pull a leg muscle in the canyon and be in trouble. Get you a good walking stick, too!

Great scenery, varied terrain around the trail to get a great hike in. Beautiful scenery. Serene and peaceful nature vibe. We had a great time appreciating the beauty of the area. I hike often and didn’t find it bad at all, but be advised some may find it more on the moderate side. Worth checking out for sure.

This is a stunning trail that runs along the creek. It is NOT Cedar Falls trail. The Cedar Falls (waterfall) is not on this trail, that trail is behind the restaurant. People keep getting them confused on here. Still a wonderful and easy hike. Had its challenges but good for beginners. The second bridge was broken when I went, so make sure to read the signs. Still worth it though.

*DOES NOT GO TO WATERFALL* I attempted this trail in hopes it would take me to the waterfall. But instead it took me to the overlook, turtle rocks, & rock house cave. Disappointed, but was pleasantly surprised! It was a nice hike, but the the lady before me turned around pretty quickly because it was so steep it hurt her knees. It ended up hurting my partners knees too, but I was fine! Make sure to bring your water; because I’m an avid hiker and found myself out of breath. It was a beautiful hike!
