Copper Canyon Trailhead offers an inviting gateway for outdoor enthusiasts seeking a memorable hiking experience in Camp Verde, AZ. Nestled within a beautiful desert landscape, this hiking area features both upper and lower trails that lead adventurers to serene creek views and picturesque canyon scenery.
While the trailhead provides an authentic nature escape, hikers should note that signage beyond the parking lot is limited, adding a sense of adventure and exploration for those who enjoy navigating natural paths. Many visitors recommend tackling the loop in a counterclockwise direction to manage the incline comfortably and fully appreciate the diverse terrain.
The trail passes by a refreshing desert stream, a highlight that enhances the tranquil atmosphere of the hike. Additionally, hikers might encounter loose cattle roaming the area, which adds to the rustic charm but calls for awareness during the trek. Whether you’re aiming for a peaceful walk to the base of the canyon or a longer hike connecting to extensive trail networks, Copper Canyon Trailhead stands out as a prime hiking area in the heart of Camp Verde.

3 months agoTrail is some what easy to detect. There is no signage after the parking lot, so get connected to much longer trails is a real possibility. You can always go to the base of the canyon and walk that back to the parking area.

1 year agoNice views. You will come across a desert stream, which is nice. There are cattle in the area that are loose. I would recommend doing this trail counter clock wise. There is a bit of a grade that you can complete at the start of the loop.

1 year agoNice, easy trail. Wish there was water in the waterfall area, but still enjoyed walking around in that area. Views were spectacular.

2 years agoTrail leads up the canyon and ends at a small waterfall about 1.5 miles. Return on same path. No spectacular views but a nice hike. No crowds. Free parking.
