4 weeks agoThis was a fantastic surprise. We combined the arch with the Fay Canyon trail. The scrambling up above the arch was a lot of fun but I would rate it as hard and there was some exposure going across to the arch. The scrambling up at the end of the canyon was also fantastic. Great views at the top. We thought this was going to be a quiet first hike of the day but the scrambling made it so much more. We will definitely do this one again.

1 month agoSpectacular views. The Fay Canyon trail is the perfect amount to stretch your legs. At a moderate pace, we made it in and out in about 45 minutes. There is a small “climbing” area at the end which we did not do as only one person can either be coming up or down the hill.

3 months agoThis trail is a must-do if you’re in Sedona for 2 days. (There are in fact 2 trails in one: look up Fay Canyon Arch for reviews of the 2nd “hidden” trail.) This out-and-back trail is easy and flat with some moderate rock scrambling at the end. We did this trail first at sunrise (approximately 1 hour) and then came back with the kids/grandkids (toddler and baby in carrier) minus the scrambling bit. There is plenty of parking in the lot, toilets, a picnic table, and a kiosk to pay the $5 daily trail fee.

2 months agoHiked up to the arch. Finding the trail was a little tricky. From the parking area stay on the main trail for six tenths of a mile and look right, across the stream and you'll see a little trail. That will take you to the arch. The trail will split about half way up the hill, and both will get you to the top, but the right side is much easier and direct.

4 weeks agoIs there such thing as a Sedona trail any less than five stars? Here is a trail easy enough for the whole family, with an opportunity for bushwhacking at the end to add some challenge and spectacular views.
