Amazing view of such a gorgeous River, the Wisconsin. We ascended as the sun was going down and enjoyed some snacks at the top along with an aerial show put on by to playful eagles. We also heard first and then saw a flock of Sand Hill cran es

This is my favorite hike I’ve done in a while. If you put it in your gps, plug in the parking lot, not the park, because it’s actually at the end of a long dirt road that I missed three times and only decided to try because of the name of the dirt road. This park is closed from dec 1 to I don’t know when because of bald eagle preservation and it’s unseasonably warm right now so I’d go before you can’t! The magic is when you get to the top. It’s in my photos but it’s not every day you climb a mountain (bluff, whatever) and find yourself on a gorgeous little private beach. If I lived closer I’d be there all the time.

Beautiful small walk west of Madison, WI. Great views of the Wisconsin River and occasional views of Eagles. Very relaxing. Be prepared for a daily steep 1/2 mile hike up the bluff. Also, no garbage pails so be prepared to hike any waste back out.
