Glory Hole Falls Trailhead

There are so many fantastic trails, waterfalls, overlooks, and waterways in the Buffalo River area of Northwest Arkansas, and one to not miss is Glory Hole. One of the most unique waterfalls you’ll ever see, and only a short 30-45 minute hike from the trailhead. Most recently I brought my 8 year old son along and he had a blast! Note, there is a fair elevation drop down to the waterfall so bring small kids at your own discretion, but mine has no issues with the climb out at the end of the day. This is a wilderness trail so take care of bathroom breaks before you come. It’s best to visit after some rain, as the waterfall can all but dry up during drought.

About a 45 minute walk down to get to the glory hole. It's kind of hard to see the trail from the road. You have to know that it's there because it's not posted. The walk is nice. There is definitely a trail to take all the way to the bottom. Very cool, though, natural formation of a rock that water just eventually eroded through to make a hole.

While the trail is generally considered moderate, be prepared for a downhill journey to the falls, which means an uphill climb on the return. This elevation gain, while providing a good workout, is well worth the effort to witness such a distinctive natural wonder. The trail itself winds through picturesque woodlands, offering glimpses of smaller cascades and interesting rock formations along Dismal Creek, which feeds the main fall. For the most spectacular views, it's recommended to visit Glory Hole after a good rainfall, especially in the late fall through early spring. This is when the water flow is at its most impressive, truly showcasing the power of nature that carved this unique formation. Remember to wear sturdy hiking boots, bring plenty of water, and allow ample time to explore and simply soak in the breathtaking surroundings.

This is a really cool trail that you could drive by and never know it's there. It is not marked from the road.

Absolutely worth the hike. I went earlier in the morning and had about two hours to myself to explore the fall and surrounding area. It's a beautiful place to explore
