9 months agoToday we hiked to see Magnolia Falls. After all the rain, it was really really muddy at the beginning of the trail. I felt like we were walking around lakes. Sometimes I felt like we were walking in the stream. We didn’t get too wet, but got pretty muddy. Now that the forests are starting to be green, they look like storybook forest trails. I loved that. I loved how this trail had so much water and little tiny waterfalls. When we got down to the big waterfall, there was this whole waterfall water, rushing amazingly spectacular situation that was just beyond anything I could’ve expected. It was absolutely the most beautiful waterfall we’ve seen yet and it was so big because of all the rain. Spectacular! I had heard that we would get to see plenty of wildflowers and magnolias, but we didn’t see any of that. Lots of ferns along the trail, which I love the way they look. Bonus we saw the elk right up on the road practically when we drove through Compton. I will never stop being excited to see them.

12 months agoPark at sign that says Wilderness Access. Trail is well worn and gradually sloped at the beginning. Follow rock formations to falls. All Trails will take you to the 2 other falls in the area, Woods Brothers and Stahle.

4 years agoAbout 5 miles hike to the water fall. When you get to a creek take the trail to the left. Don't go right it's down hill and a nightmare to get back up. The waterfall is beautiful and worth the trip. If you don't go straight and get lost and make it a 15 mile hike like I did.

2 years agoFantastic spot. Parking area is kind of weak but just try to hug the side of the road. Make sure to go see the other 2 waterfalls. First fork in the trail turn left for magnolia falls. Walk back to the fork and go straight for the other 2 waterfalls. When you see cliffs on the left side, follow those to the other 2 waterfalls

3 years agoGreat hike. Nice flat rocks for spreading out blanket and enjoying the falls. Trail is easy 3/4 of the way and moderate to the falls
