Three Caves Trail Head in Huntsville offers a rugged and exciting hiking area for outdoor enthusiasts. The trail features a mix of rough terrain and a smoother graveled path around the caves, providing options for different skill levels. Hikers appreciate the chance to explore unique natural landmarks like the historic water line pipe from the mid-20th century. The presence of butterflies and safe wildlife encounters adds to the charm of this trail.
This trail is best enjoyed with sturdy trail shoes due to the tricky climbing sections near the stream bed. Photographers and nature lovers will find plenty of picturesque overlooks and points of interest along the way.

5 months agoRough trails, with a smoother graveled route around the top of the three caves. If you follow the water line trail, it progresses to tricky climbing where it meets the stream bed. Recommend trail shoes, but road running shoes are okay until that point. Pictures included from each overlook point and a few points along the trail. The water line pipe (circa 1940-50) is visible in some places. Visited in August, and saw lots of butterflies. No snakes spotted, thankfully.
