3 weeks agoClassically beautiful and peaceful, in Brooklyn. We stayed in the Ashanti suite. The room was perfect for a romantic getaway. Our host was exceptionally attentive. Breakfast was lovely.

a month agoI stayed at Akawaaba Mansion in the summer of 2024.This was my first time leaving my girls who were at the 12 and 8 years. I truly enjoyed my visit and was even planning to return the following year for my birthday. When returned home and raved about the hotel to my family,I received a call from one of manager named Randy. Randy(Africa America Women) said the house keeper(African American Women) said that a white terry cloth bathrobe was missing and she believed I took it. I was completely hurt and couldn't believe that I was being accused of stealing. After I huge up with Randy,I phoned back to speak to the woman that actually greeted me the day I arrived, but Randy pick up the phone and kept apologizing and didn't let me speak with the other staff member. This has been on my mind from time to time to post what happened to me,but I held back. I am not looking for money. I just to write what I experience and not be afraid to hold back. I am a woman of color and to have this happen to me by another woman of color sickens me. It wrong no matter what the color of the person is,but I never want to visit Awaaba Mansion again.

4 months agoMy family and I stayed at the Akwaaba on the weekend of my daughter’s wedding in Bushwick. We all loved everything about it. The mansion was really beautiful inside and out. We had a dinner party on Friday night in the courtyard and it was truly lovely. It was a perfect space for a welcoming party and we had the nicest guy Lamar helping us all evening. He was so friendly and helpful and accommodating. People didn’t want to leave it was so much fun.
