in the last weekHome away from home in NYC. Beautiful rooms, albeit NYC size. Hotel service is excellent and the lobby and patio is an energetic fun scene all day. The elevators can get slow since there are only two. Dirty French restaurant adds hints of Moroccan spice to classic French dishes. The best feature: the neighborhood is the amenity.

a week agoI absolutely love the Ludlow Hotel it has spectacular rooms, amazing bar, wonderful room service and is super vibey for drinks (amazing cocktail list) and Dirty French do amazing food and an amazing burger. I love the area it’s based in the LES which is full of cool shops, galleries, great places to eat, not to mention Katz and then also has an amazing vibe with street art - it reminds me a bit of Shoreditch or Hackney in London - a gritty city kinda buzz. The reason I am rating this one star is because I stayed at the Ludlow and had a room change and rather than accommodate the change smoothly (the night before I asked if they could ensure the room was available close to check out) but I was told the room would only be available at 3pm and to leave the hotel and come back then…. This is absurd. I was literally staying there for 2 days in one room (bath tub rooms) and the had a CONSECUTIVE two more days booked and then they wouldn’t allow me to even stay in the room and wait until the new room was ready this was absolutely ridiculous and ruined my plans that day because I had luggage and many things to do work wise in those crucial hours but couldn’t get anything done because I was forced to wait in the lobby like an idiot. To make matters worse, as I sit here wasting crucial hours in a lobby, other guests are arriving and allowed to check in early being told their rooms are ready…. Despite the fact I was told that my room being made ready was a priority - which it clearly wasn’t. I am actually incensed at how inflexible and unaccommldating the staff have been in this scenario - it’s not a hard thing to arrange for my room to be cleaned immediately or at least within 20-30 mins it’s of the previous guest leaving allowing me to go up to the room. What’s disappointing is the fact that all the staff seemed unable to help. It was a case of “oh sorry you’re gonna have to just wait” rather than the desk staff proactively asking a member of the cleaning team to clean the room with a priority. It is insane and has ruined my entire day. It’s made me question whether I would ever stay at the Ludlow again because this is pure incompetence
