Although the hotel is centrally located and close to the subway, there are better options for the same price. The hotel feels a bit like a catfish — from the lobby to the room and the view. The king room could have been cleaner, bigger and with a more comfortable bed. Despite marketing itself as a 5-star hotel, it does not meet that standard. We were also charged a non-refundable $200 fee for a 6-night stay for pool and gym access, which was only disclosed at check-in. Considering it was winter and clearly we were not going to use the pool and the gym does not provide water or towels, this fee felt unjustified. We initially decided to try Virgin Hotels because of the price, but after being charged the extra fee, we would have preferred to stay at our usual hotel. Unfortunately, we were unable to cancel our reservation or receive a refund. Don’t be misled by what you see on TikTok — it’s more about getting a photo of the view than the actual hotel experience. Overall, this is not a hotel we would stay at again.

I almost didn’t stay at this hotel based on the reviews here, but then I found out it’s part of Chase “The Edit” collection, so I decided to give it a try. This was by far the best hotel we have stayed in NYC! This was our 5th time in NY, so we have tried a decent share of hotels. Our room was nicely decorated, spacious (which is rare in this city), clean and had many perks like hair dryer, yoga mat, espresso coffee maker, mini bar and fridge. Extra points for having vinyl floors! (I really hate carpeted rooms). We got a room with view to The Rockefeller Center and WOW, it didn’t disappoint. Reservation included breakfast and menu has plenty of delicious options. On weekends Everdeen rest gets very busy during breakfast time and we had to wait 30mins for a table, but service was still great. Having stayed many times in NY, I highly recommend this hotel. It has a great location, close to Amtrak and subway stations, great dining options and a rooftop bar with a beautiful view… everything you need for a great stay at NYC!

Excellent New Year's Eve event here, with huge windows that let you take in the whole city!

Everything was mediocre. Nothing terrible, but nothing great either. I wouldn't recommend it for the price. A few examples... we were told when we checked in that we had complimentary happy hour drinks, but we were given a bill for our drinks and told at the bar the front desk was supposed to give us vouchers. They refused to rectify this. The same thing happened with our "included breakfast" when we got to the hostess stand, after being in line for 20 minutes, they told us we needed vouchers from the front desk at the lobby. The breakfast buffet was on the level of any basic 3-star hotel with a free breakfast. Pretty disappointing. The spa canceled our son's massage after he was sitting in a robe waiting for 20 minutes. Our room was cleaned at about 4:30pm each day and they didn't replace dirty glassware, ever. There were several other examples, but not worth describing. Just overall meh and disappointing.
