a month agoTotal length: 8.2 miles round trip Elevation gain: 2,000 ft To Bridal Veil Falls only: 4.0 miles round trip Elevation gain: 1,000 ft One of my favourite waterfalls in Washington. I’ve hiked this trail twice — once in winter (01/25/2025) and once in summer (08/05/2024) — and it’s beautiful in both seasons in completely different ways. The hike to Bridal Veil Falls is fairly easy and very rewarding. It’s a steady climb but manageable for most hikers, and the waterfall is absolutely stunning up close. Continuing on to Lake Serene is where the real workout begins. The trail gets much steeper with long sections of stairs that feel never-ending. It’s definitely strenuous, but when you reach the lake, the view makes every step worth it. The lake sits quietly under towering cliffs, and the whole place feels dramatic and peaceful at the same time. A perfect trail if you want the option of a moderate hike to the falls or a challenging push to the lake.

a month agoNot an easy trail by any stretch of the imagination, but well worth it. There were a number of downed trees to climb over or under, along with some areas where you are stepping across rocks to cross streams. If you go this time of year, best to have some spikes to help with the compacted snow and ice towards the top. The trail had a lot of elevation change, so be prepared to question your life choices by the time you make it to the lake. If you are only going to the falls, it's not that bad at all.
