in the last weekMy wife Laurie & I & friends Dave & Suzanne all met in The Rondout at The Hudson River Maritime Museum to take a moonlight cruise on The Solaris. We were welcomed on board by The Skipper & crew. Everyone seemed to have brought wine & snacks. We were all talking & catching up ,& met new friends & shared our wine & snacks. We so enjoyed seeing all of the beautiful evening scenery. Feeling the quietness of our boat, "The Solaris", she is powered by huge batteries that are located beneath in the hull. You can hear all of the natural sounds around you because there is no engine noise. All of the sights on the way were explained to us & all the wildlife is an added pleasure . We would love to meet you when we come on our next evening cruise. ❤

2 months agoThis was an absolutely amazing museum! It is a great way to introduce used to Maritime history and the critical and important role played in New York State history the exhibits are very well done at times a bit text-heavy so you may need to summarize for the poor readers in your group it is an undiscovered gem along the shore is the Hudson. Allow for about an hour to go explore. Parking can be challenging at times during high attendance events at the river
