1 month agoStar of India has truly become one of my favourite spots for authentic Indian food in Salt Lake City. I tried their Chilli Chicken Tikka Masala and Shajahani Chicken Biryani, and both dishes were absolutely outstanding. The chicken was tender, the spices were perfectly balanced, and the biryani had that rich, aromatic flavour you only find in real Indian kitchens. Every bite felt freshly made with care and attention to detail. The service is the real highlight here warm, genuine, and full of heart. The staff are incredibly friendly, and the lady with the constant smile truly makes you feel at home. They check on you often, serve with patience, and ensure that every customer leaves happy and satisfied. It’s rare to see this level of hospitality these days! The restaurant itself is clean, comfortable, and gives off a cosy, welcoming vibe perfect for both family dinners and casual meet-ups. If you’re in Salt Lake City, Star of India is a must-try. Great food, excellent service, and a wonderful experience overall. You’ll definitely want to come back again!

4 months agoWow! Amazing service and quality Indian food! They recently moved locations and the new building is beautiful. Very bright, welcoming, and thoughtfully laid out. It's located in a nice corner lot with a couple other businesses. Well maintained and good parking. We've been here a couple times now, and the service is exceptional! Always greeted and seated immediately, and on our second visit the server remembered us and our preferences! The food is fantastic! The flavor profile on all the food we've tried has been perfect. They clearly use only good, high-quality ingredients and care about the product they are serving you! They've clearly taken the time to dial in their recipe for the best tasting Indian food in the greater downtown area! If you're a fan of Indian food, this place is a must try!

1 month agoStar of India is a true gem in Salt Lake City! I had the Lamb Coconut Korma and it was outstanding. The lamb was tender and flavorful in a creamy, perfectly spiced coconut sauce that hit all the right notes. The restaurant itself is spotless and very well kept, which really added to the overall dining experience. The staff were incredibly personable, attentive without being overbearing, and genuinely made me feel welcome. You can tell they take pride not only in their food but also in how they treat their guests. This is easily one of the best dining experiences I have had in the city and I will definitely be back!

3 weeks agoStar of India is absolutely amazing. I've had a lot of different indian food, and I cook indian food for myself multiple times per week. Rarely do I find an indian restaurant that puts my cooking to shame, but Star of India has done just that. They've somehow managed to make a tomato slice both sweet and acidic without overwhelming the rest of the curry, something I have never been able to accomplish consistently. The chicken is cooked to absolute perfection, and is cut to the perfect size. They give just the right amount of rice to the amount of curry. The spice level is absolutely perfect, and does not mask the taste of the base curry underneath. I do not understand how this is managed to be done in under 15 minutes. Front of house is also extremely kind! The person who took my order asked how my day was going, how I heard about them, etc.. She also helped me figure out what spice level I was looking for, and made me feel confident that the spice level I chose was correct! I may have found a new favorite restaurant in Salt Lake City!
