Severely disappointed. Bought a boat new in 2007 and had good experience. This time I inquired about a used boat they had listed. Salesman called my phone at least once but mostly twice a day for a week. Also sent a handful of emails, mostly junk. Finally went to go look at boat at the dealership. It was disgustingly dirty, with moldy Bimini and what appeared to be years of dirt and grime covering every square inch of the surfaces (carpet, upholstery, fixtures). Carpet on boat was destroyed, upholstery was torn and stained badly, and overall it really smelled quite bad. Painfully obvious the dealership put zero effort into cleaning/repairing/maintaining the boat, but still wanted over industry standard evaluation guide prices.

BOATER BEWARE! I've been buying boat parts from Rick for years. I always had good service from them until the day I made the horrible decision to trust them with my 96' Crownline that had very nice interior when I dropped off my boat. If they would have told me that their only mechanic is "semi retired" and that my total wait time would be a year, I would have taken it somewhere else. My boat was having intermittent power loss problems while under a load. Dave recommended converting my EFI to a carburetor set up without even diagnosing the issue. I agreed, because it is a reputable shop. He told me it would cost me around $3,500. I told him, if the boat will run good then go ahead. They charged me $6,000 and the only extra work done was replacing my starter. The called me a complete year later and told me my boat was ready. I showed up and paid them and when they brought out my boat, it was truly unrecognizable. My upholstery was completely destroyed where they had removed upholstery and damaged it putting it back in or taking it out. Tons of holes in my upholstery. Rick Smith offered to pay for half of the damages. When I went back a few weeks to check on any progress, he informed me he will not be helping with any of the repairs. Rick is a very dishonest crook. He lied about not having intake photos of my boat, not knowing one of his workers had already shown me them and had agreed that there was a substantial amount of damage done. My advise to you is stay far away from Marine Outlet. Rick's health is really deteriorating along with his busniess. He is no longer serving the community with the standards I belive the shop had when he started his busniess. Dont let Dave anywhere near your boat. He obviously has lost his passion for boats and you can see it in his work. Oily finger prints all over my white interior. Didn't even bother wiping or cleaning it. The first thing I noticed was someone had attempted to bolt the engine cover on with the hinges upside down. They ended up just leaving my engine cover completely unbolted and they were going to let me drive it down the road like that knowing it would fly off. Please dont give these guys your money. If they ripped off a disabled vet like myself, they will have zero problem doing it to you.
