in the last weekPrice was good for kiln dried firewood and the employee was helpful. However later discovered that all the wood sold to me had been improperly stored and had fungal rot inside. Smelled like manure. EDIT (to respond to owner): I don't doubt that the wood was properly kiln-dried, I think post drying the wood was not stored correctly and it got wet from rain/snow post drying. in the last weekI ordered 2 cords of wood for my home at the beginning of the season. This is my first year burning wood for heat. The wood itself is good and I had no issues in terms of the amount delivered or quality of the wood. My issues came from a couple of places. #1 it took almost 4 weeks from the time I ordered to the time it was delivered. Paid 450$ per cord of air dried hardwood and a 125$ delivery fee. I ran out of wood early and I decided to shop around different suppliers since I couldn't afford to wait 3-4 weeks for more wood. I have found 3 other suppliers in central MA that sell seasoned hardwood at 260-280 per cord and charge a 20$ delivery fee. I ordered 2 cords from West end. Paid 1025$ including delivery fee. By comparison I ordered 2 cords of wood from another supplier in central MA I paid $530 for 2 cords including delivery (delivery happened within 4 business days of my order) The wood is not substantively different in any way, well seasoned and burns good. After paying literally almost exactly half the price for the same amount and quality of wood I really cannot help but feel like I got ripped off a bit by West end.

a week agoI had the kiln-dried wood delivered today and it's my first time with West End Firewood. This has got to be the best wood I ever burned in my woodstove. They cut it at a perfect size, it's incredibly clean, and burns efficiently. I will definitely order again from them!

a month agoStolen from disrespected and treated with contempt by the owner and his employees The delivery employees stole a large amount of wood from me 100+ cubic sq ft The chopping block had black mold growing on it. What should’ve been a good thing in terms of value for the money and amount of wood turned into a nightmare. Karma is Real May your contempt be returned to you a thousand fold PS this company is also using shady business practices to suppress or remove legitimate negative reviews.
