Utica Park Urgent Care – Utica

I’m giving 5 stars for all the other staff except the doctor I was seen by, C. DeLong. I came in last Thursday evening (12/11). A fever had started the week prior (Fri), followed by a seizure Monday (I’m epileptic), painful digestive issues (Tues), and horrible ear pain (still continuing). I had other symptoms too but those are the main ones. My fever had gone away at this point but I mostly wanted to check for Covid and the flu, which he did and I was negative. My issue is with being lied to. When he checked my ear he said it was “fine”. I thought huh that’s weird because it definitely doesn’t feel fine. This pain was deep in my ear, extending to my jaw and neck. My lymph node on that side was/is swollen. I followed up with my primary less than a week later only to be told my ear is not fine, they only saw a hole but no eardrum. I had a perforated eardrum earlier in the year that I thought had gotten better until the pain started progressively getting worse again, more than before. I don’t see how my eardrum could go from “fine” to not there anymore in less than a week. I don’t appreciate being lied to and I won’t be coming back to this location. He could have just said yeah this ear looks bad, make sure to follow up with your PCP and left it at that. Instead he blatantly lied, or maybe he didn’t look long enough. Idk but either way I’ll look for urgent care somewhere else next time I need it. The nurses and front desk staff were great though. I haven’t seen any of the other doctors, my issue is just with this one.

I called and asked if there was a Medical Doctor at this location and how much the visit and an X-ray would be, approximately. I was quoted $145 dollars for the visit and $195 for an X-ray. I am willing to pay money, but that is highway robbery. Your clientele is primarily the financially rich. Do you think they are that dumb? Nevermind, you already answered that. Also, please, hire more people. It's disrespectful to put a future patient on hold, for the excuse, "Other patients are coming in." Overall, I do thank you for making my decision easy. What a mess.

Everytime I come here the wait time is minimal, the male provider is super nice and very thorough, and actually listens to what you have to say.
