4 years agoThis little preserve is tucked away near the industrial area of Madison. The red trail was a nice mile walk with my two boys. My only complaint was the beginning and end of the trail had a lot of soft mulch around and steep drops.

4 years agoExcellent trail loop perfect for a family stroll. Very well maintained with very clear trail signage, great parking area, and over all great trail conditions. The largest loop is over a mile from start to finish, but you could combine or take shortcuts to make this less/more. Would recommend this as a winter/cooler months hike as there is a lot of standing water close to the trail (the mosquitos could carry you away around here in the summer).

2 years agoShort trail (1 mile perimeter) with a couple of short cross trails. It's not flat all the way through, but the incline isn't very steep. Dirt trail with hay on top of it makes for nice running surface and its well shaded. Great for a short, nature-filled, local run. Nice, large green area in the middle.

3 years agoThis trail is usually deserted. There is plenty of parking whenever I go. Lovely big field with tables. There is no shade on the field, though. There is also a lot of standing water around the raised trail. I foresee a lot of mosquitos. It's a very nice set of short trails.
