Discover the New MTB River Trail Adventure

MTB River Trail is a fresh addition to the Montgomery landscape, designed with beginners and casual hikers in mind. Located conveniently inside Montgomery Whitewater, this hiking area features beautiful, well-kept paths with engaging switchbacks and a scenic route along the river. Visitors appreciate the easy access through the main entrance near Outfitters store and Eddy’s, with helpful staff ready to guide first-timers.

The trail is ideal for dog walking and gentle hikes, with future plans to introduce features for intermediate riders, making it a versatile spot for outdoor enthusiasts. While signage to the trailhead can be minimal, following the perimeter paved road past water activities leads you to a marked entrance by a tall post and picnic area. The MTB River Trail offers a serene and inviting environment for all skill levels.

***Park in Montgomery whitewater parking lot - use main entrance for access that is paved and goes between the Outfitters store and Eddy’s - ask any staff for directions to the Trails if it is your first time, or just follow Google maps Road by walking to the trailhead. These are new trails and a new location, so do not rely on Google maps for DRIVING directions unless you select Montgomery Whitewater parking lot. The rest of the way to trailhead is on foot or bike*** Best for beginners, hikers, and dog walking (remember to clean up after your dog if you use these trails!). In the future there’s been talks of putting in features for intermediate riders with ride around options to keep it smooth for beginners while more advanced riders go on the features to test & practice their skills. The River trail is the newest trail and by far my favorite! Beautiful and well kept, nice switchbacks and recently opened fall 2025! This is located inside of Montgomery whitewater - there is a LACK of signage from front entrance of Montgomery Whitewater to the trailhead so use look at Google maps and navigate yourself there from Eddy’s or outfitters entrance (or ask any staff for directions) as it takes you to the actual trailhead. You go towards the “Gear up” orange trailer at the back past the water activities, on the perimeter paved road - but keep heading down the road away from the MW entrance - when the road splits take a RIGHT it turns into gravel and is lined with a guard rail, this will lead you down to the trailhead that IS marked with a tall post as the sign, it will be on your RIGHT for River trail - past the open picnic table area, towards the river.
