Located along the river in Montgomery, Wright Brothers Park is a spacious and beautifully maintained destination rich in history. This park commemorates the aviation pioneers Orville and Wilbur Wright, who established a flight training school here, contributing to the city’s significant role during World War I. Visitors enjoy the scenic river views, a fun playground, and convenient amenities such as trash cans and nearby public restrooms. Adequate street parking accommodates cars and RVs, making it a great stop for travelers seeking both education and relaxation.

5 months agoJust a brief stop while headed North on a RV trip. Plenty of parking along the street for our tow and travel trailer though if felt as if the vehicle lanes were a bit tight. Well maintained, trash can nearby. I think there were public restrooms further down but it was so hot outside that we did a quick walk with our best pals, snapped some happy shots, then jumped back into the a/c.

3 months agoWe enjoyed the walk and the huge structures however the garden being gone was a huge disappointment Looking over the rails down below was a sad site This could be such a beautiful place - i wish we could have seen it in his prime.

4 years agoI have always liked this little park overlooking the river and railroad tracks. It's more family friendly than it once was with better fencing and updated facilities. The small playground and space for outdoor games is nice. Originally called overlook park it has some nice views. On the negative side there is a fair amount of trash people throw into the wooded hill beside it, and because of the area the city can't really clean it up efficiently. There is also some unsafe deck rot on some of the wooden decks so watch your step.

2 years agoThe Wright Brothers Park was an unexpected treat. We had no idea that Orville and Wilber had such a significant involvement with the City of Montgomery. After the successful flight at Kitty Hawk NC, they open a flying school here to train customers. This would be expanded by the government during World War I. The facilities were useful in the war effort and would eventually become Maxwell Air Force base. The park is fairly large and beautifully situated on the river.
