4 weeks agoWe did not do the actual trail. This review is for the Hickory Nut overlook at Ouachita Vista!! It is a must see if you are anywhere in the area. We stayed in Hot Springs and drove about 45 min over to see this place. It was beautiful!! Easy to get to. There is a 4.5 mile gravel road in the last part but it takes you straight to the overlook. No hiking involved!! Make time to see it!! You won’t regret it!

6 years agoIt's great if you just want to watch the water go by but don't try to fish here! The moss is so thick that is all you'll catch. The pictures I am adding will show the money wasted to build this dock and bring in all those rocks just to 1. Not finish the job by cleaning out the invasive vegetation and 2. Not maintaining it and now it is almost worse than when they started!!

3 years agoWe parked along the road, no one else was parked here, but didn't want to park down the way in the lot. It was early March about 45 degrees F (chilly), but was a nice day. Early spring, so not to much in the way of new growth, still a nice hike.

6 years agoThis was the best part of my trip. I couldn't add the place in Google, however there's a vista at the end of this trail which has a 180 degree view of the lake Ouachita. Just breathtaking..This is a must visit.

8 years agoPerfect hiking experience. It was really hard to find the entry though, after parking your car, you need to walk back a little, don’t worry the trail is right there 😄. Honestly I suggest going off track a bit (without loosing the way of course) that way it is more fun. Enjoy the view, trees, rocks, the air.. Don’t focus on your phone and camera. Carpe diem!
