in the last week2nd time I stayed here. 1st time 5 years ago and figured they would have done some updates. Overall Meh! Not a comfortable experience. Positives: Staying in a room at Base Camp includes two free lift tickets. Restaurant had good food and drinks. Location is closest to Snow Bowl. Negatives: I stayed in cabin 2. My comments are similar to other negative reviews. No microwave or mini fridge, that should be basic. Walls are very very thin and can hear neighbors walking and talking. The bathrooms are in dire need of updates. Tub was not the cleanest, and had some grime and old moldy caulk. The shower kept going from hot to cold, as if someone pranking me and flushing toilet. The shower/tub was higher up and had to step-up to get in. Im only 5’10” and kept hitting my hand on ceiling trying to wash. And shower head was so low, I had to duck and bend over to wash hair and face. Seriously, I felt like Will Ferrell in Elf, in the scene when he was showering in his elf size shower. Recommendations: Base Camp has so much potential to be 5 stars but they need to update cabins. I think they have been missing out on a large opportunity over the years. You would bring in so many tourists and Phoenix folks if you can upgrade or add more cabins. This is prime real estate and owned by a ski resort! How is Base Camp not already updated and a nicer experience?
