I am absolutely furious. I came here for what should have been a simple wash and blow dry. I have naturally curly hair — and I mean beautiful, healthy curls. When I left, my hair was straight but had a strong burnt smell. A week later, after washing it at least five times, my curls are completely gone. I don’t know if they secretly used a chemical or just fried my hair with excessive heat, but either way, my hair is ruined. I’ll be spending the next year or more trying to recover from this damage. To make things worse, when you book an appointment, you’re led to believe you’ll be seeing the owner — but instead, you’re passed off to whoever happens to be available. Completely unprofessional. I will be pursuing legal action because this is unacceptable. I wish I had read the reviews before going. If you have curly hair and want to keep it, STAY FAR AWAY from this place. *UPDATE* After my initial review, I reached out to the owner to explain what happened. She was very apologetic and assured me that no chemicals were used on my hair — it was simply too much heat for my curl pattern. She invited me back for a curly-hair treatment to help restore my curls, and I truly appreciated her care and willingness to make things right. I want to be fair in saying the salon itself isn’t a bad place. However, those of us with natural curls need to make sure we’re working with a stylist who fully understands curly hair care. Christina was my original stylist, and I believe it was just a lack of knowledge around curls. The other stylists — especially those who have curly hair themselves — have been incredibly kind, supportive, and helpful. I’m grateful that the owner took action and provided a solution. My curls are not fully back but they look better then before I reached out to the owner.

Today I stopped by True Dominican Beauty and had the honor of being served by Camela. She did such an amazing job on my very long, very thick, very curly hair. When I walked in at 4:30 today, I didn't expect that they would be able to dye, cut, and style my hair. Not only did she deliver, she took her time. She didn't rush the process. And I am so pleased with my red hair, which has a brown and blonde highlight. I can't wait to see her again. 10/10 would recommend! Overpriced and Disappointing Experience I was charged $60 for a simple wash and blowout—even though my hair barely reaches my shoulders. The blowout wasn’t styled nicely at all, and no one even asked how I wanted it done. On top of that, I was charged a $3 fee for using a debit card, which I found unreasonable. This was my first visit, and unfortunately, it will be my last.

STAY AWAY!!! I had booked and appointment with Griselda after seeing an influencer review. Well, the day of the appointment she was not the one completing the service. The lady was on her phone for the entire length of the hair cut. I wish I would’ve seen all the reviews about damage to curly hair. Unfortunately it happened to me as well. I went in for a trim and blow dry and left with my hair FRIED. It will no longer curl as it did. I asked to keep my length and she gave me about shoulder layers with a long rag tail that does not blend. The layers are choppy and uneven. My hair smelled completely burned and the smell wouldn’t come out after two washes. If you have healthy hair STAY AWAY.
