in the last weekMy go to spot for indian food in Birmingham. Quality is great and always consistent, the environment is unmatched and that's due to Mr.Singh always treating guest like family. They can accommodate spice if you like it a little more tamed. Ask for a pan mixed drink ! I prefer to order from the kitchen over the lunch buffet.

in the last weekThis place was wonderful! It's one of the very few places in Birmingham, AL Open after 9 pm and it was so lovely to get a delicious meal after watching the Alabama Symphony Orchestra perform. The food, the wine, and the service were all wonderful.

a week agoWe come to do some work in Birmingham from time to time and discovered Bay Leaf on our first trip back in October 2025 and absolutely love eating here. The food is amazing, and we really appreciate the choice of vegetarian options as well as the ability to choose spice level: mild really is mild (which is what I need) but is still beautifully flavorful The owners and the staff are wonderful - they make us feel like family every time we visit. We are already looking forward to eating at Bay Leaf again the next time we are back in town.

a week agoThe food is excellent - the delicate combination of spices are exquisite and SO flavorful, even when we asked for not-hot dishes. While there are many meat dishes, the vegan and vegetarian dishes are absolutely wonderful (daal makhni (black daal) and aloo gobhi matar are especially delicious, as well as the street dosa). The staff are friendly and welcoming, and care about customers having a good experience. We visit Bay Leaf every time we are in town, and every single time we are delighted and want to come back.
