4 months agoStrongly recommend this site for a local hike. Trails include easy, moderate and strenuous. I chose a moderate trail and found it very enjoyable. Great views and easy to navigate. I started on 8, transitioned to 68 and ended up on Alpine 7. The drive up includes approximately 6.4 miles of steep dirt road. Suggest a 4 wheel drive and decent clearance.

5 months agoTrailhead for #8 and #717. We did #8 (Noisey Creek) up to Twin Lakes and back. It is a Forest Service road. You need clearance. Don’t gas it- you’ll be fine. We took a Nissan Rogue up and had no issues. Views were spectacular. On our descent, we came up on a momma moose and her baby. They were off the trail about 15yds.
