in the last weekThis was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I’ve had, especially considering it was for an important business lunch. Last Friday, my wife invited her business partner to North Italia to make a good impression. After they arrived, they waited to be seated and were guided to a table by the host. They sat down and began reviewing the menu. A few minutes later, the host came back and asked them to leave the table, saying there was a mistake with the reservation. This was embarrassing, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable, especially during a business meeting. The service did not improve after that. While we were still eating and talking, the waitress repeatedly came to the table to clear plates. She picked up dishes without even asking, which made us feel rushed and uncomfortable. It was distracting and disrespectful, especially since this was a business conversation. What made it worse was that the restaurant was not full. There were several empty tables, and only a few people waiting. There was no reason for us to feel pushed out or ignored. Despite the poor service, I still left a generous tip. My guest even told me I should not tip at all because of how bad the service was. At the end of the meeting, my guests even said they would remember this experience the next time we meet in Houston or choose a steakhouse instead. That is not the impression anyone wants to leave after a business lunch. Overall, the experience was embarrassing, frustrating, and very disappointing. I expected much better from a restaurant like North Italia, especially for a professional setting. I will think twice before coming back or recommending it to others.
