3 weeks agoAwesome gravel and sand creek area right off the Natchez Trace Parkway. The only bad thing, and it is a big issue, is the bathroom facilities do not always work. Other than that it is a fun place to go “creekin’” and to camp, with the old Rocky Springs town site nearby (easy hike). Also, if you follow the creeks awhile (either way) you will come across some truly beautiful scenes. It’s worth the visit every time.

a year agoHiked the Natchez Trace Parkway National Scenic Trail from Rocky Springs to Owens Creek Falls and back 10/8/24. The 1st half of the trail is fairly well marked, but navigated the 2nd complete by GPS on maps as I never saw the first marker. It was a beautiful day, and I didn’t see another person on the entire section of the trail. A lot of brush this time of year and ended the day covered in seed ticks. There were 3 bridges that were out on this section of trail, and the sign from the trail head at Rocky Springs states 2.5 miles, which is a lie as I clocked 3.7 miles one way.
