Coquille Parks and Recreation

I received a request from Coquille today regarding the 2025 Tackle Football Survey and noticed it focused primarily on the facility. While Coquille was our field, the success of this team came from the incredible coaches, their supportive families, the boys, and the dedicated parents—not the building. The survey offered no space to highlight the positives, only space to provide negative feedback which I find to be odd and honestly disrespectful to the coaches so I want to take this opportunity to recognize what truly made this season meaningful. Words cannot express the gratitude and admiration I have for Coaches Brandon Powers and Ethan Cole. From the very first practice, it was clear they are extraordinary not just as coaches, but as mentors, role models, and leaders shaping these boys into confident, compassionate, and responsible young men. They go above and beyond, investing countless hours, energy, and care into each child, helping them grow both on and off the field. They teach life lessons alongside football skills: leadership, teamwork, perseverance, character, and giving your heart to everything you do. I’ve seen a remarkable transformation in my son this season. His confidence, attitude, and behavior have blossomed under their guidance. He has learned how to be a supportive teammate, a strong leader, and a person who gives his all, no matter the scoreboard. True success, these coaches have shown, is measured by heart, dedication, and integrity not just victories. I do not care how fancy Coquille is, how easy the registration was, what the "customer service was like" that's not why I will be registering my son for next season , these coaches are the reason my son will return. You can play football on any field it's what's brought to the field that makes it a great experience. It’s also important to acknowledge the sacrifices of their families. Their wives, (Miranda Cole, who will answer a 10 text even if its about my kid wanting a team hat or being up at 6 am to put up a balloon arch, or Caitlin Powers lugging around a packed wagon full of snacks cooling towels extra mouth pieces and coming to every game to cheer on the 5-6 team even though her son is on the 7-8 team), and children support them tirelessly, allowing these coaches to dedicate themselves fully to the team. Their generosity and selflessness extend to every player, creating a team environment that feels like a second family. The impact Coaches Brandon and Ethan have made cannot be overstated. They have changed the lives of these boys in ways that will last a lifetime and have set a standard of excellence, compassion, and commitment that is unmatched. We are endlessly grateful for everything they have done and cannot wait for another season to continue learning, growing, and playing under their incredible leadership. Simply put, they are some of the best coaches and role models I have ever encountered. Until next season LETS GEAUX GATORS !!!!
