in the last weekCame tonight to celebrate an engagement with my fiancé. Firstly arrived and took about 10 minutes to get seated with reservations. Okay you’re busy no problem… We got sat next to a LOUD crowd of 6. Unfortunately the place was busy so we were in no position to request different seats, and I don’t blame the restaurant for them being rowdy. It was just an unfortunate circumstance that we were sat next to the crowd that likes to scream and spill their drinks. we mentioned to our hostess we’re celebrating our engagement and she mentioned she would say something to our waitress. No congratulations came from anyone. It’s okay I suppose, no one is owed a congrats. But I feel like good customer service would warrant at least some well wishes. We place our order, the grilled squid for an appetizer and the smoked ono club and pork ragu for mains. Some time passes and our waitress asks if we still want the grilled octopus. “Yeah… why wouldn’t we” I replied. Apparently, they brought it to the wrong table and that table declined it. Now we have to wait another 15~ minutes for the appetizer. The cherry on top of this scenario is we almost watched a different lady give away our dish AGAIN until we spoke up saying it was ours. We then continue to wait another 40 MINUTES for our main courses. We watched the table behind us get seated after us, and get our food before us. Maybe other people will disagree, but I find that quite frustrating. Through this whole situation, the restaurant itself is freezing. So now we’re about an hour into sitting at this restaurant with a couple tentacles of squid to eat, watching other tables get fed before us while listening to this loud group hoot and holler until our ear drums were sore. When my main course arrived, it was incomplete and I was told I’d have to wait longer for my side. To my waitresses credit, as soon as I mentioned the issue she helped me get the side immediately. However no apology was offered for any of this. No mention of wrongdoings, nothing. It was just… disappointing. Even if this was a normal dinner for us, the lack of attention was extremely low even for a busy restaurant. Through all this, the food was still good. So if you only care about the food, this place is great. Unfortunately customer service was severely lacking and hopefully this is paid attention to in the future. Food pics for proof.

in the last weekHard to focus on the food when the staff was so unfriendly—bordering on downright rude. I honestly can’t remember another time when service this poor affected my dining experience so much. Out of our four waitstaff, only one (Ryan—thank you!) was friendly and attentive AND I do appreciate that they support local farms! Hopefully this was a one-off or management is working to improve things, but based on this experience, we won’t be returning.

in the last weekWe had an incredible dinner here. The recommendations from the menu were excellent. Our waiter was stellar. My favorite is the deviled eggs. My hesitation for service is their lack of availability for more extended dinners. I had not seen my friend in over ten years & it was my first time back in town. We had a reservation on a weekday, and it was not busy. We ordered a lot of food & drinks, but they kept moving us because of their back-to-back reservations. Although they were kind enough to move us to the bar - eventually, they said they could not accommodate us because of the reservation for the bar seating. It wasn't enjoyable to be interrupted mid-conversation & dinner.
