Delicious food and great service. Had a great time. They even gave me a free glass for my birthday.

Our visit to Freemason Abbey started with real promise and, unfortunately, lost its footing by the time the main courses arrived. From the moment we were seated, our waitress Madison set the tone for the evening — attentive, warm, and genuinely enthusiastic. She was an absolute standout and deserves every bit of recognition. We kicked things off with a Manhattan, which was well-made and satisfying, though it arrived without the expected garnish — a small but noticeable miss. The she-crab soup, however, was nothing short of spectacular: rich, velvety, and full of flavor. If the entire meal had matched that soup, this would be a five-star review without hesitation. Sadly, the main courses told a different story. The scallop risotto looked beautiful on the plate, but the scallops were so heavily salted they were inedible — a real disappointment for what should have been the centerpiece of the meal. The pork chops had good flavor but came out noticeably dry, falling short of what the dish could have been. To the restaurant’s credit, the manager came to our table and was genuinely apologetic and professional. That kind of accountability matters and was appreciated. Freemason Abbey has real talent in the kitchen — the she-crab soup proves it. With a bit more consistency in execution on the mains, this place could easily be exceptional. We’d consider returning, but with cautious expectations.

Nice place. Good happy hour food and beer prices. She crab soup was excellent. Old bay butter ship just okay. A little on the salty, greasy side.
